Interested in applying for a grant from an external source? 

All ASU departments and employees are required to submit:

  1. A Grant Concept Proposal Form and draft budget for preliminary approval by the Grant Concept Review Committee, which meets twice per month. 
  2. Contact: Tawney Becker, Grant Specialist, tbecker@adams.edu, 719-587-8305.

  3. Once the Grant Concept Proposal has been approved, the applicant may proceed with filing an Intent to Apply Form and an ASU Budget Form. (This is an excel spreadsheet. Use your right mouse key to download the file to your local machine)
  4. Contact: Tawney Becker, Grant Specialist, tbecker@adams.edu, 719-587-8305.

    The Grant Specialist is available to answer questions and preview your Intent to Apply and budget for review and signature by the Controller of Sponsored Programs and Senior Administration. An approved Grant Concept Proposal Form is required accompany the Intent to Apply and budget. 

  5. Once the Intent to Apply form has been fully signed, it will be forwarded to Executive Council for review. Executive Council meets twice per month.
  6. Please plan at least 6 weeks for the full process-- Approval by Executive Council is required before a grant application can  be submitted.

It is the policy of Adams State University (ASU) to support institutional operations and growth, and academic pursuits that advance the University, through grants from public or private sources. The Vice President of Finance and Governmental Relations/CFO, or designee, shall develop and maintain a manual(s) or website(s) that includes the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations that govern grant-seeking and grant implementation at ASU that is accessible to all employees and the public. ASU shall ensure that new or revised policies and procedures concerning grant-seeking or grant implementation are made available to designated staff, the public, volunteers, and students prior to implementation.
