Grace Young - Department Chair

Professor of Sociology, Ph.D., McGill University, 1996; M.A., University of Chicago, 1985; B.A., Kalamazoo College, 1978. Dr. Young teaches in the areas of research methods, rural sociology, marriage and the family, and gender.

Michael Stewart 

Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology, Ph.D., Florida State University, 2008; M.S., Florida State University, 2002; B.S., East Central University, 1996; Dr. Stewart teaches in the areas of race, culture and ethnicity, poverty and social inequality, and social psychology. 

Nancy Gonzalez

Assistant Professor of Sociology, Ph.D., University of Oklahoma at Norman, 2016; M.S., California State University at Long Beach, 2011; B.A., University of La Verne, California, 2005. Dr. Gonzalez teaches in the areas of criminology, criminal justice, correctional systems, deviance and control and juvenile delinquency.

Stephanie Hilwig

Professor of Sociology, Ph. D., University of Tennessee at Knoxville, 2003; M.A., Cal State at Fullerton, 1998; B.A., Adams State College, 1994. Dr. Hilwig teaches in the areas of social statistics, criminology, environmental sociology, and social theory.
